user password keeps on expiring
I have a workstation with windows xp pro installed.
every few days when the user tries to log in the system reports that the password has expired and that a new one should be entered. The user enters a new password and when he tries to log in with the new password the system reports that the user cannot log in due to account restrictions. The only way to enable the user to log into his account is by booting into safe mode, logging in as administrator and re-setting the user password. I checked the user settings and the check box for "password never expires" is checked. The option for "user must change password on login" is NOT checked. The user has an Administrator account. highly frustrating! Anine |

I saw the article yes but could find no way to actually
obtain the hotfix. clicking on the link returned me to the windows support page. I'm running a windows update with the hopes of one of the service packs and/or fixes will remedy the problem. Read the article carefully and thoroughly:
"To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix" "....charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem". Contact Microsoft support to obtain the fix, the only way to get it. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows XP - Shell/User Be Smart!
