Setting sounds for WindowsXP
I'm having a problem with getting WindowsXP to play a certain wav
file. When I goto "sounds and audio devices" and bring up the "properties" box then goto "sounds" I try to get "start Windows" to play a wav file with the opening theme from "Star Trek Next Generation" It loads and plays when I test it with the "play" button, but when I shut down windows and re-open it, the wav only plays for like 4 notes then stops...Windows goes on to load up without any problems. When I set "start Windows" with another wav file, like the them from the "orignal Star Trek" it works fine...plays all the way. I have played the "STNG" wav file on my Windows media player, and on my iTunes player...no problems playing the whole file...I have even played the "STNG" wav file on a program called "Wave Pad" and again it plays without a problem and doesn't show any visable drops or spaces. Any help on this? Thank you, John |

Setting sounds for WindowsXP
Hello,
Have read somewhere before that there is a limit on the file size that XP can play for the start-up sound. Try reducing the size of the file and see if it helps. See if this thread helps as well http://forums.bit-tech.net/printthread.php?t=116463 -- Singapore Website Design http://www.bootstrike.com/Webdesign/ Singapore Web Hosting http://www.bootstrike.com/WinXP/faq.html Windows XP FAQ "JoHpr13" wrote in message oups.com...
