Sign in to .NET Messenger Service failed because...

Sorry to hear you having MSN Messenger 6.1.207 trouble.
I am getting the same error message thing with my MSN
6.1.207 today.
I was able to sign on to MSN Web and look at Hotmail.
I have a different error code {0x81000314}
The Net status shows all is OK.
The weird part is my wife is on her computer and is
signed in Messenger with NO PROBLEMS. This makes me
wonder if it is My computer or just the connection to the
server I am routed to with MSN.
If I learn of anything. I will get back to you.

What does this mean and how do I fix it? Both Windows
Messenger and MSN
Messenger (6.1.0207) show the same error when I try to
sign in. I can sign
in to .NET just fine via web browser and I can also read
MSN Hotmail,
configure my .NET account, etc, so the account and
password works fine.
Please help. I am on Windows XP Pro SP1.
