Your motherboard has A88X Bolton chipset, total eight SATA ports,

so we cannot blame an add-on chip for the error message.
That leaves the BIOS and change from RAID to AHCI.

I just checked everything from the BIOS and could not find anything
"RAID" (on) there. I have:
SATA configuration/OnChip SATA type = AHCI
(and the next SATA option after that also set to AHCI)

so seems like everything is AHCI

While you could switch to IDE in the BIOS, and finish
the install, I don't know if the driver re-arming is
going to work or not. Even if you install the AMD AHCI driver
by using the INF, right-clicking and selecting "Install", I
don't know if the driver rearm recipe will have an entry
that makes the AMD driver a "candidate".

wow. Thanks. when I change it to IDE it works!! nice.

But is this going to be good this IDE? I dont even know what it is .
What is the difference between IDE and AHCI? IDE is not so good?

Anyway, happy to be able to continue

ok, so its a bit faster. they say "RAID mode also enables and makes use
of AHCI. ". How about, can I create a RAID if I have only one disk, like
my SSD? Can I create a RAID and put only my SSD there?

(saw no answer below)

Just curious as to what the solution was.

BTW: though this may have no bearing on your problem, it is possible to
create a RAID with only one drive. A few months back that came up as a
question on Usenet where someone could not get their system working due
to a RAID controller with one drive.

I told them to create a concatenated RAID and that did the trick

above . IDE works....

aha, ok, that would make it faster using RAID. But if I can set it later
to AHCI that also works.... will see..

Once you get Windows installed I'm sure you will be able to sort out the
"missing driver"

All I can think of is that either the mfg provided a self-extracting
executable (which would not have the needed .inf file visible)

or else something like trying a 32bit driver with a 64 bit OS
