Win8.1 installation: drivers missing

the install, I don't know if the driver re-arming is
going to work or not. Even if you install the AMD AHCI driver
by using the INF, right-clicking and selecting "Install", I
don't know if the driver rearm recipe will have an entry
that makes the AMD driver a "candidate".

But is this going to be good this IDE? I dont even know what it is .
What is the difference between IDE and AHCI? IDE is not so good?

ok, so its a bit faster. they say "RAID mode also enables and makes use
of AHCI. ". How about, can I create a RAID if I have only one disk, like
my SSD? Can I create a RAID and put only my SSD there?

BTW: though this may have no bearing on your problem, it is possible to
create a RAID with only one drive. A few months back that came up as a
question on Usenet where someone could not get their system working due
to a RAID controller with one drive.

I told them to create a concatenated RAID and that did the trick

Once you get Windows installed I'm sure you will be able to sort out the
"missing driver"

All I can think of is that either the mfg provided a self-extracting
executable (which would not have the needed .inf file visible)

or else something like trying a 32bit driver with a 64 bit OS
