That menu (Quick Access was not coined by MSFT but the blogging and tech
community) also has a few other names - 'Expert Menu', 'Power User Menu', 'Admin Menu', 'Tools Menu', 'WinX Menu', 'Win+X Menu' all of which might be preferred nomenclature since Windows Explorer and other MSFT software (e.g. Office, Windows Essentials, etc.) provide a feature called the 'Quick Access Toolbar'. i.e. its not uncommon for some folks to confuse the two But MSFT probably caused some of this confusion...the official name given by MSFT (and shown in a few places in their online documentation) is 'Quick Link' menu cf. It can be dragged to the Desktop and the properties changed to Run As Admin (or no need to change the Properties - just rt clicked and Run As Admin - just like prior MSFT o/s) -- ...winston msft mvp consumer apps |
