That's a very generous discount. Good luck with your collection of email
addresses, err, I mean your sale.

Without units, I'm not sure how generous the discount is, especially
since Fernandes (one of today's nyms) didn't mention whether he's paying
for overnight shipping. I hope he is.

If 99 means 99 cents US, or even rupees, that's great. If it's $US or
Euros or even worse, GBP, not to mention Bitcoins, not so great.

I'm waiting for further word before I decide to order it from him.

I for one would say it's trash. I bought one of those $99 sale items on Newegg and it was 1G memory. I can't load
more than 4 apps before it won't update Google browser. I've purged cache and move files to a microSD card and still
no good. So 512Meg would be trash.
The sale price came down to $69 or so 6 months later. It's still a good item for me, it initiated me into Android
apps and electronics.

I should have added a wink. ;-)

Buying something for 99.99 and selling it for 99.00 isn't much of a discount
at all, almost regardless of the units involved, within reason.

Yes, one of my friends bought a real cheap tablet for exactly that
reason. He could have fun without committing a lot of money. A pretty
reasonable strategy, IMO.

I was only kidding about even thinking of planning to consider a $99
tablet, just playing along with Fernandes or Nixon or whatever name
he'll come up with next.

Confession: I should have added a wink ;-)

I thought my remarks were so ridiculous that everyone would know I was
kidding - but that requires knowing that I have at least *some* small
amount of common sense, not a proven assertion in these quarters. Nudge,
nudge, wink, wink.

I seem to be in a silly mood.

I asked first! If he's only got one or two, I still get to order mine.

Agreed. I recently bought an HP Stream 7 tablet (Windows 8.1) for $99
at Office Max. For that price I thought why not. I was surprised at
how well it worked. IMO every bit as good as my Nexus 7 at two times
the price or my wife's iPad Mini at 4 times the price. However the
Windows desktop is a just a bit touchy with the tiny icons on a 7"
screen but still quite usable. My biggest complaint is its 4 to 5 hour
battery life.

I do think the one major thing I've learned is that yes, the 7" form factor is too small for a on screen keyboard and my
hands. :-)

Yes, other than putting in passwords I wouldn't want to type much on
that tiny screen. Almost (but not quite) as bad as a phone. Course my
gadget does have Bluetooth and could be used with a keyboard but I
still can't imagine anyone really wanting to anything that way.

Could be worse....buyer has to pay for shipping from Tanzanya!
