save win8 and delete win7?

Default save win8 and delete win7?

installed W 7 first and W 8.1 second. I want to save W 8.1 from this dual
boot setup and clone it to an SSD HD . one other ? if the win 8.1 OS is the
pro version and will the win 10 version be also?

thanks for that.can you tell me how to remove W 7 and leave W 8 on the drive
as the boot OS.

Nice link. I've used EasyBCD and Partition Wizard, but not to do this function.
It's nice to have the reference. Hope it helps the OP too.

The only thing I'd add to this, is do a full disk
backup before you start. Always expect the unexpected.

Well, maybe.
If its a dual boot system it only has one System Volume (the location
for the booting files for both o/s). The operating systems Win7 and
Win8.1 are on the Boot Volumes.

In a typical dual boot system the drive onto which the first operating
system was installed contains the System Volume.

If 8.1 is on a different drive then its booting files will not be
present if you clone the 8.1 o/s drive. (i.e. after cloning to the SSD
it won't boot).

It might be prudent to read up on System and Boot Volume and ensure you
clone what you need to or you'll end up having to repair or reinstall
8.1 with a System Volume to get it to boot.
