Default Network Browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list, error 8032

Both of my pc's are running XP Pro Sp2, netbios over tcpip, same workgroup.

PC1 - 2 nic's: one dsl and the other peer-to-peer connected to a hub.
PC2 - 1 nic peer-to-peer connected to hub.

Network browser PC1 does not show PC2. If I stop and restart the Computer
Browser Service on PC2, PC2 shows up on PC1. After a few days PC2 disappears
from PC1. Event list shows the following: Error8032 - The browser service
has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport
\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{C314276F-6F6C-496C-BC53-64781A8F2D75}. The backup
browser is stopping.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I can ping both computers and file shares are not a problem as long as I
enter PC2's address. This is frustrating because I have stop and restart the
Computer Browser Service every few days. All ideas welcome. Thanks!

On PC1 try:

On the Local Area Connection for the NIC connected to the DSL modem, disable
File and Printer Sharing.

Try:

Turning off the browser service on NELSONPC2. You can do this through the
Services applet by changing the setting for Computer Browser from Automatic
to Manual. You don't need a backup browser on a 2 machine network.

Or, if File and Printer Sharing has always been disabled on the DSL
connection, you could try enabling it - you can use your firewall to prevent
sharing on this connection. See:
