can’t get windows to update anymore
can’t get windows to update anymore i have an XP and it won’t update

Error message (exact wording)? Update "hangs" during the "scanning for updates" ? I suppose you mean that you are going to the Windows Update site (?). NB- please use punctuation in your posts cause one long runon sentence is really a pain in the @$$ to read when you're trying to help someone with their problem if you see what i mean i hope you do and i'm not trying to be mean just to help you help yourself
