Can anybody please tell me how to access the Snipping Tool from the Desktop
toolbar.

I did it by making a shortcut to the Desktop then dragging the shortcut to
the toolbar. Remember to unlock your toolbar first though.

click on start ball and drag the ST icon to the bar - it will automatically
make a Quickstart (1 touch) button

Thank you for that, however being a bit of a thicky I cannot see how to make
the shortcut in the first place.

Programs /accessories / snipping tool - right click - send to / desktop (
create shortcut ) ... that should work ;-)

Start All Programs Accessories Right-click Snipping Tool Pin to Taskbar.
