verdsid.exe file running in task manager?
i have this memory hogging verdsid.exe file running in my Task Manager under
processes. i can't locate it on the computer using microsoft explorer, even when i look for hidden files. i tried several different search engines and can't find a thing about it. i've run a virus/spyware/adware scan and it found nothing as well (and it is up to date with the latest updates). any suggestions on what it is or how to get rid of it? ANY help is appreciated!!!! |

Instead of using Explorer try using search and select the advanced option to
search hidden and system folders also. If you find it submit it to virustotal.com at http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html per their instructions. You could also use Process Explorer from SysInternals to find the process, the path to the associated executable, and possibly publisher name that may help identify it. I have never seen malware have a publisher name associated with it. Autoruns from SysInternals can tell you what part of the operating system it is launching from and allow you to attempt to disable it from starting a computer startup/user logon.. --- Steve http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilitie...sExplorer.html -- Process Explorer http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html --- Autoruns "Michelle" wrote in message ... i have this memory hogging verdsid.exe file running in my Task Manager under processes. i can't locate it on the computer using microsoft explorer, even when i look for hidden files. i tried several different search engines and can't find a thing about it. i've run a virus/spyware/adware scan and it found nothing as well (and it is up to date with the latest updates). any suggestions on what it is or how to get rid of it? verdsid.exe file running in task manager?
I tired the suggestion in the google link, but still ended up with the same
problem, so I completely uninstalled all the updates. Will this make my system vulnerable to not have all the proper Microsoft updates installed? I know several people are having the same problem and just uninstalled it...
