Default problema de Puerto RS232

Alguien me podria ayudar sobre un tema de el puerto de 9 pin(agugeritos)?Lo
que me poasa es quue me he comprado un UPS,SAI (una vateria para el
ordenador de sobremesa)que se comunica con el pc mediante dicho puerto(el de
9 pin)y el problema es que mi ordenador es nuevo y no sé porqué no trae de
fábrica ese puerto,el caso es que he comprado un cable de esos de
impresora,de 24 pin,que ya venÃ*a transformado en 9 pin por el otro lado pero
no lo detecta....no sé si tengo que agregar un nuevo puerto o si no es
compatible....Sé que hai targetas con el dicho puerto,pero el caso es que son
muy caras...
