That's a protocol presented in a hyperlink. See my other reply on how to set a default program per *protocol* and likely why the author never bothered registering FileZilla during its installation nor as a user-configurable option as a default program. |

Was the "FTP" line for that protocol still highlighted (selected) when you clicked on the "Change program" button? Maybe the window is modal and opened underneath the current window instead of on top. Alt+Tab through the windows to see if the browser dialog appears. It could be hidden underneath. |

The only options presented were the installed browsers or choose an app from the store. The store doesn't have Filezilla or CuteFTP. I didn't recognize any of the presented choices as FTP clients, a search for Filezilla and CuteFTP on the store came up empty. John |

I think you will find this is another "enhancement" MS has added to newer version Windows my *removing* features. Looks like it will require a registry edit. Just like now to added an additional action to image file is no longer in the GUI but must be done via registry. Also it is no longer as simple as editing under the extension .jpg but at a special location: Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\ image Looks like FTP is at: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ftp\shell\open\command But I would advise more research and of course backup before you experiment. -- Take care, Jonathan ------------------- LITTLE WORKS STUDIO http://www.LittleWorksStudio.com |

I was really trying to guide the OP to a "thing" called "Settings" and that would offer a different selection of options. But I seem to remember (maybe wrongly) that earlier Windows 10 versions gave an option for you to search and select your preferred program. That option does not appear to be offered. As for FTP protocol, I haven't had a dedicated FTP program since late in the 1990's - and that used to be CuteFTP. I then installed what is now my file manager - Total Commander - and that supported FTP, and still does. I haven't used FTP for close on 15 years. The FTP protocol is also supported by my browser (Pale Moon) if ever I require to use that protocol. Cheers, |

It's decided they constitute functions of a "browser". http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol Some other protocols are separable. WGET supports enough protocols, it could be used as a crude browser, but it doesn't present any graphical results. https://askubuntu.com/questions/8210...browser/821048 Paul |
