cannot type password at the logon prompt
I'm using windows xp home edition. I can't type my password into the logon
box...it seems like none of my keys work. (Except FN 8 to get into safe mode, and then my arrow keys work.) Once in safe mode it brings me to the same logon prompt where none of my keys work. My keys only work if I boot off of my recovery cd. I think i accidentally deleted my laptop keyboard driver. How do I get past the logon screen? |

Try a USB keyboard to see if you can get in the system. If you can, do a
system restore and see if that fixes it. -- Regards Ron Badour "SuzyQ" wrote in message ... I'm using windows xp home edition. In the menu to bring up safe mode there should be an option for "Last Known Good Configuration". Try that. |

How do I get past the logon screen? Have you used that particular USB keyboard on that pc before? If not, then the problem is that the USB drivers haven't been installed, and that's why it doesn't work. Try using a keyboard that plugs into the PS2 port instead. -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |
