Win7 SP1 IE11

Why has IE11 gone all slow? Have others noticed this?

Could you be less verbose?

IE has not slowed down. Time has speeded up.

I see we're off to a slow start.

Didn't you have some malware or toolbars a while back.

Tell us a story.

Tell us everything you know, since the time it
was running at the normal speed.

A first level of checking, is to look at Task Manager.
Occasionally here, I'll get the feeling "things are a little
slow", look at the Task Manager and see one core railed
by something. So that's your very first debug step.
I kill the "something" (a thing I recognize, that doesn't
endanger system stability), and my speed comes back.

But at least share a bit of your "machine history", like
the name of the malware you got, how the cleaning went,
whether the cleaning was successful, and so on.

And if you ever do get malware ot toolbars, for God's sake,
put the info in a text file for later. Telling us later
"it was green" and "it had four legs", is not going to
impress us. We need names and details.

My guess is, something you removed recently... really
isn't removed.

Seems like he has a different problem every week. Or more likely a
different symptom of the same problem :)

For IE, it might be prudent to reset it to default settings.

When reinstalled the same problem reappears. Starting IE11 is slow
and gives two favorites bars at startup and one disappears a few
seconds later. The tabbing is slow with ctrl-click and takes several
seconds.

Thanks Paul, resetting fixed it. I would never have known resetting
& reinstalling were different!
Thanks for all replies.
