Help with junction creation permissions
As an administrator, I am able to mount drive D as a directory on my C
drive. I would like to extend this ability to a regular user. mountvol mntpt \\?\Volume{557a3bc2-bf82-11dc-b274-806d6172696f}\ This command works perfectly as administrator. As a regular user, I get the error message Access is Denied. At Microsoft's website (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319808/en-us) I found this little bit of information: Default Permissions By default, the following NTFS permissions are set on junctions. Microsoft recommends that you use these settings. Domain\Administrators: Full Control System: Full Control Domain\Users: Read & Edit, Read I understand why they set these defaults, but I need to change them. I'm no expert on Windows security, so I'm not sure how to go about changing this. Can somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! |
