Oh come on!! Who made you bloody "internet police" ?!

The fact that the post is still carried by the group and internet search
engines means that the posted question *will* keep being viewed by many.

If only part of the thread is still viewable, by answering it, those people
searching on the topic mentioned, may get some benefit out of a decent
reply - no matter if it is two, three or five years old!!

The only issue should always be : "is the advice given was factual and
relevant?" ...

Cheers, Tim Meddick, Peckham, London. :-)

Do you really think the OP is coming back to look for your reply from the
post made in 2007? What a trip you must be on!

Thanks for this thread.

I am running XP on my Macbook Pro -- which the hard drive is dying.

So, I am trying to figure out how to be doubly sure I do not lose my
Windows data to have to re-install every freaking program.

I am running the XP with Bootcamp and Parallels.

I am hoping Winclone will work. But, the be safe I did the XP Back-up
Utility and then found out at the end that I needed a floppy.

Are you saying that if I have to do a fresh install of XP (if Winclone
fails) then I can install XP and then Restore with the XP Back-up
Utility AND I DO NOT NEED A FLOPPY?

Thanks for the help...

PT

1. So long as your hardware (BIOS) pemits you to boot
from a CD drive, you can perform INSTAL or RESTORE
without a floppy. (When booting a PC with no Operating
System installed, it does not matter from which drive the
OS comes, so long as it can be enabled.)

2. We would expect a backup routine that includes writing
anything to a floppy is NOT configured to prepare a bootable CD.
