Default xp won't disk cleanup

For some reason all of a sudden, disk cleanup won't
work, it just stops after it says compacting files. I
tried the defragmentor and the same thign happens, it
won't move past 1% so it has something to do with the
files manager, or the cleanmgr. I'm not sure what to do
to fix this any advice?????

Jeffrey;
Try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;812248
Or
Follow this link:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
