TINTSETP on WinXP Home SP2
I'm currently using WinXP Home with SP2 installed. After a slew of program
installations made to my PC, I noticed that I wasn't able to load windows on startup. When I went into msconfig to check my startup programs, I discovered 2 instance of TINTSETP but loading different commands. The 2 commands are : 1) C:\WINDOWS\system32\IME\TINTLGNT\TINTSETP.EXE/SYNC 2) C:\WINDOWS\system32\IME\TINTLGNT\TINTSETP.EXE/IMEName Can it possible that something is wrong here? I was able to start windows with one of them disabled. How do I know which is the correct one to load then? Thanks in advance for any help rendered. |

A Google for "TINTSETPEXE" shows that this is part of Microsoft's Input Message Editor (IME) for translating Japanese/Chinese text in IE, Outlook and Word: http://startup.iamnotageek.com/srch-TINTSETP.EXE.html You don't need to have either of the instances starting with Windows, but I don't see anything in the Google searches that would indicate this should cause a problem in starting Windows. What does a scan with a current antivirus using updated definitions show? Malke -- MS MVP - Windows Shell/User Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" |
