Default Some folder Icons are Black ??

When I go to Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Scheduled Tasks
the icons in there are all black. usually they show whatever icon is
appropriate to the programme. What would cause that? As far as I can tell
everything is functioning normally. other folders seem OK (so far).
A footnote. I did an upgrade install today to solve a few problems and when
I was downloading Windows Updates I got a couple of errors stating something
like a certain i386 file was missing, however the updates all downloaded
successfully.
