Cannot Restore to any Restore Points
I ran a complete system restore using Acronis True Image 11 several days ago.
Have created several restore points since then but none of them work when I try WinXP System restore. Have turned off AV Software without any effect.

I had already looked at this and it was not any help. I am able to restore to an earlier restore point if I boot up in safe mode but this is time consuming. Check Acronis settings - use Acronis Help menu for info.

I think you are right that something is running on your system that is
preventing restore. One common problem for this kind of thing lately is a lack of correct Permissions in the registry. if your security setup is not too complex, I would take it back to default to see if that gets it going. Nothing in Acronis was the problem - problem was with the Microsoft restore files. Solution found at http://bertk.mvps.org/html/restore.html Involved restoring System restore itself.
