Default Thumbnail View not working with video files

I just recently built a new computer and installed Windows XP 64bit SP2. One
of the problems I am having is that I liked being able to see thumbnails of
my video files whether they be .avi, .mkv, .ogm, or .mp4. Though after
transferring over all of my files I noticed that only a few .avi would still
show a picture, but not all of them and especially none of the other formats.
I am wondering if anyone might have a way to get around this problem since I
never had it with 32bit windows.

To give some basic info running 64bit XP with 4GB of ram, have WMP 10
installed by default, but use Combined Community Codec Package to watch my
video files. Any help would be nice.

Just to add this I read on the site that another person had problems viewing
the thumbnails in Explorer as well, but that they would show in open file
portion of Windows Media Player (with thumbnails enabled). Wondering if it
has something to do with using 32bit codecs/software with a 64bit explorer.

Nero? windows does not show many media types by default and even for avi if
this uses codecs that are not installed some avi dont show thumbnails...

you must have installed nero or some other video program with codecs in
order to be able to view files like those that you say

Im interested for you to tell me because I have never seen thumbnails for
these types mkv, .ogm, or .mp4

Default Thumbnail View not working with video files

Anteprima (thumbnail) Windows xp x64 64bit

1 Shark Parte 1 (32bit VistaCodecs_v562)

3 Shark Parte 2 (64bit 64Components_v247)
dal pulsante start-tutti i programmi-sharh007 codecs-settings
applications x64 andate nella
sheda MPG-MP4 e nel riquadro "Set MPEG2 specific Platback (DVD)"
selezionate Set MPEG2 to use FFDshow
ora avere l'anteprima dei file video vecchissimi MPEG2 a basso
bitrate
e nella scheda MKV selezionate "Use Haali's splitter" cosi avrete
l'anteprima dei file MKV
poi uscite prmendo EXIT!

menu e scegliete "Libavcodec" poi premete in
solito bottone EXIT ora oltre
all'anteprima potrete anche vederlo Col nostro amico lettore
WMPlayer10!

GSpot
System-list codecs and other fiters; tasto destro del moude sopra
MPEG-1 Stream Splitter-

ora WMP10 potra eseguire perfettamente i video VP62 - On2 VP6 / Flash

come vi descrivo qui sotto!

NON L'HO MAI AVUTA ANCHE DURANTE LE DECINE DI PROVE CON
TUTTI STI CODEC MALEDETTI! E MOLTI ALTRI

qUALCUNO POTREBBE AIUTARMI PER VISUALIZZARE LE ANTEPRIME DEI WMV in
esplora risorse ?????????????

SU WINSOWS 32 BIT SONO SEMPRE ANDATI...ANZI ERANO GLI UNICI CHE ANDAVANO
SEMPRE!! ANCHE QUANDO SMANETTAVO DI BRUTTO CON I CODEC E FACEVO DEI
DISASTRI!!
