It appears that Microsoft has decided they would rather have moderated
groups on the web. As of now, there are no newsgroups for Windows 7 and
I would be very surprised if they created any.

Does that mean that anything negative (like about Vista) would be
deleted?

No, it doesn't look like there will be one, either.

All it means is there is no newsgroups about Windows 7. However, I
wouldn't be surprised if all the trolls and garbage had something to do
with it.

I have no idea what standards are followed to moderate posts.

I wouldn't call Vista users who had legitimate complaints about the
poor performance of that OS trolls or garbage. These are people who
expected something at least as good as XP and wanted to voice their
opinion. And they had every right to do so.

Maybe not, but there are plenty of posters in
ms.p.windows.vista.general who definitely deserve those terms.

As it is now most of the garbage in that group is generated by a handful
of trolls.

Unless and until MS makes Win7-specific newsgroups available, you'll have
seek support in the appropriate forum he
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/...egory/windows7

Or he http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...egory/w7itpro/

"alt.windows7.general" exists. Not well frequented at present. Not
moderated.

Who said I was talking about Vista users? Plenty of idiots in this forum
that don't use any form of windows that are trolls and loading this
place full of garbage.

YES. Microsoft is a business and a very profitable indeed so they need
to protect it from loonies, nutters and crackpots.
