Does Firefox and Thunderbird share UserIds and Passwords?

I have used them since Netscape, Did they ever share UserIds and Passwords?

I have never used Thunderbird as a browser, yet it seems there are
UserIds and Passwords from sites I have visited in Firefox that appear
in the Thunderbird's list of UserIds and Passwords

They have separate profile folders.

Using Agent Ransack, do a search for "profiles.ini", a text file.
I have one file each for Thunderbird, Firefox, Seamonkey.

Examine each file with Notepad. There should be references to different
ABCD1234 style profile directories. None of those three should be
"sharing" a profile folder.

[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/abcd1234.default
Default=1

A profile.ini can have references to more than one profile directory,
in which case the Profile Manager can be used to select one at
runtime.

I have been using Firefox and Thunderbird for a long time, and the only
passwords and URLs my copy of Thunderbird has are for the three mail hosts
I have used over the years. Of course, I only use Thunderbird for email, so
that might make a difference.

Same here, email passwords from TB and website passwords from FF remain
separate, I don't think it's possible for TB to use a FF sync account,
but have you got some other sync service operating in both?

Do you also access your email accounts via webmail? If so, those email
access passwords will be the same in both apps, but they aren't really
"shared" as exchangeable lists.

OP: When I posted I had checked the UserIds and Passwords in
Thunderbird. I had about 16 entries. The information for my ISP email
and webmail were there, but there were others from places like
Corel.com, Library, etc. These were dated in 2011, Every thing else had
dates with the last 3 years.

I deleted all those with the 2011 dates. I hope that was correct.
