links/shortcuts to programs.

I have used Mozy backup for years. They have been bought out my
Carbonite. Carbonite installed more software on my desktop that
puts those green check marks on my desktop icons. The green ones
mean that the item has been backed up by Carbonite. The orange
tick marks mean that backup is pending. (I think.)

Not all my desktop icons have green ticks.

I thought Google Drive had little green check marks showing data has
been synced.

This seems a common problem with several contributing possibilities,
in general though it seems a F5 refresh gets rid of them. On my
system the overnight restart seems to have got rid of the effect on
my desktop.

Carbonite backup does that (optionally). Are you using Carbonite?
