Default unable to add printer to windows XP

Here I thought you were helping me with my problem : (

Test to see if your Dell can read the flopy disk without
trying to install the printer. If computer can't read the
files then get the driver from Lexmark website. Or you
could email youself those files from another computer that
can read the files from the floppy. You can than save
those file on Dell's hard drive. Hope this helps.

Tried to add printer. A Lexmark Winwriter 200 to my new

Dell. The Add printer seems to work until I put the
printer's floppy disks in the A: drive.
At that point the system says it can not read the floppy

disks. I used these on my previous computer OK.
Is there any way to get the system to communicate with

Lexmark to add the printer online?
Is there any way to add the printer which is a black and

white laser printer as a "default printer"
.
