Default need to get pictures out of digital camera using wizard.

When you plug your camera into the computer, assuming it is a USB =
camera, windows detects it as a drive and pops up a window asking what =
you'd like to do. Transfer pictures to hard drive using the scanner and =
camera wizard is one of those options. Click on it and the wizard =
begins. Should be self-explanatory from there.

If that window isn't popping up, go to Start/All Programs/Accessories, =
and click on the Scanner and Camera Wizard there.

If the Scanner and Camera wizard doesn't detect your camera, you won't =
be able to use it. Make sure the camera is connected and turned on.

Small addition to your response to the question. You won't be able to use
it by plugging the camera directly into your machine. The work around is to
transfer your pictures using a card reader.

With respect for the software for your camera, you should be able to
download all that you need from the camera manufacturer's web site. WinXP
has very sparse support of digital cameras with native drivers.

Actually, Edward, the new USB cameras plug directly into the USB port on =
the computer, bypassing the need for a card reader. It depends on the =
camera.
