Internet Explorer Not Responding
I have Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit.
I had problems with 'Internet Explorer Not Responding' and trial and error indicated that it was probably being caused by Windows Update KB2744842 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8. I have unrestored that and things now appear to be normal. Hopefully this may help someone. |

Since you've uninstalled it, at the very least, ensure that all Java runtimes are no longer installed. And, please keep this URL on hand because you'll be needing it in the not too distant future - Microsoft Consumer Security Support Center https://consumersecuritysupport.micr...&wfxredirect=1 After you've run the MS Safety Scanner, click the Continue button, confirm your location, click Continue, then choose the option that best suits you. Phone and Chat support are offered for *no-charge* and, believe me, since KB2744842 is not installed, you'll need one or the other as the vulnerability that it addresses is being *actively* exploited by cyber thugs. Mine is definitely a 64 bit version. I have no Java runtimes installed. What is "MCSSC" ? The info I posted for you is for *when* your system becomes compromised because KB274482 is not installed. If you so desire, you can contact Microsoft for *no-charge* support for troubleshooting performance issues ( Internet Explorer Not Responding ) caused by the installation of KB274482 if you live in the US or Canada 8800-642-7676 in the US or 877-568-2495 in Canada Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM - 9:00 PM Pacific; Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Pacific If you were trying to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner, please download it from here if you live in the US: http://www.microsoft.com/security/sc...s/default.aspx If you're not in the US then click the drop down window towards the top right of the above page and set it to your location. Clicking the Download Now button *should* offer you the 64 bit version but if for some reason it does not, then click the link under Download Now that states ' Select your version' and then click the 64 bit link.
