Default Firefox 16 doesn't allow tabs on bottom?

No more "Tabs on Top" selection when right-click in on the menu
bar. Any way to have the tabs on the bottom, closest to the
window?

Thanks.

Yes, there is a way. Same way as before. Options.

The way as before is described above, the "Tabs on Top" [de]selection
when right-click in on the menu bar.

Options.

As usual, Nildo is clueless.

The problem might not happen when upgrading from a prior version, but
if it does, try...

about:config
browser.tabs.onTop

The way as before is to choose it from Options on the menu:

There are other methods, if you have trouble with that.

Options.

The hard, cold fact is that Firefox does allow tabs on top or bottom.
As usual, you get very defensive when you are wrong.

And yet, those options are not visible on my stock install of Firefox
16 on Windows 7 64-Bit or Windows XP 32-Bit...

And yet those options *are* visible on my stock install of Firefox.

Apparently, they removed the menu option from view by default in new
installs, but if you use an older profile, the option is still visible.
Otherwise, you have to turn on the option in about:config.

Firefox does allow you to put the tabs on the bottom, but you may have
to jump through a hoop if it's a fresh install.

After another reinstallation of Windows 8, installed Firefox
16.0.2, no "tabs on top" option showing, used about:config as
described above, worked fine, instantly. It even put the "tabs on
top" option back in place.

Now if only I can get voice activated scripting (Dragonfly) to
work.

And again, after installing (18.0.1) in another installation of
Windows 8 on a new motherboard.
