Did I damage my XP print spooler
Hi, I have installed a Minolta QMS 2300DL color laser printer on a
system that previously had a Lexmark laser printer. Very often when I try to print a document, I get an error message instead of a printed document: Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Other times, the printer prints OK. I am aware that there are some well known conflicts between Lexmark drivers and other manufacturers' drivers. I used the sc config command: sc config spooler depend= RPCSS and the printer seems to be working OK right now, but I don't know if I solved the problem. I have one question: 1) When I first tried making the print spooler service dependent only on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service (RPCSS), I mistyped the command, ommitting the space between = RPCSS: sc config spooler depend=RPCSS. Did I introduce a new problem by doing this? Thanks, Dan Pilloff |
