I'm using Vista but it seems a lot like 7.
Is there a way to turn off the process that generates the message, "checking online for a solution"? It's never yet found a solution, so this is just another waste of my time. How can I turn it off? Thanks. |

In addition to what Paul said, how about tracking down the source of the issue that causes the message and fix that, instead of clobbering the message and leaving the issue in place? The two programs are Firefox, which crashes when I have too many tabs open. I'm working on that. For one thing this, this free Vista box has only 2 gig, so I'm going to move eventually a box with 4 gig. The other is Eudora, which never crashed before, and I presume won't again when I get back to XP or on to 7, and have 4 gig. I've been following Performance in Task Manager. IIRC, there's an enhanced version of Performance somewhere. Windows says it's checking online but never finds anything. If it found things I'd be happy to have it. Paul, I never had a puppy.
