Default Installing Windows

Apologies - I really should not attempt to respond without glasses on.
That should read "Vendor/Model - not Modem:"

Minimum specs such as Vendor/Modem - CPU Speed and total RAM
helps us to help you. What was the original OS of the machine ? It may
not meet minimum requirements. My first suggestion would be to review
the BIOS settings. From your description it seems like a core driver is
not starting/loading. Also was this a "Fresh" install or did you attempt
to
upgrade an existing OS ?

I have an old system that I am trying to setup for my grand kids. I
installed XP but when it tries to restart it froze at the point that the
logo screen shows up. I have tried to restart using the XP installation
disk and booting from the CD but it appears to load the drivers and then
in the windows setup screen it shows Setup is starting Windows and then
hangs.

Any thought as to where I should start looking for the failure to get
beyond this point?

Marv
