Default Upgrade to......which messenger?

If I open up windows messenger, click on tools, then Add-
ins website, it leads me to the new MSN messenger 6.0
download page...
Is windows messenger the same as MSN messenger, I thought
they were different...

Anyway, if i want to upgrade my current windows messenger
4.7, to the latest version, do I have to uninstall my
current version first?, I cannot find any automatic
update feature within windows messenger!

Ahhhhh... for goodness sake, should I just uninstall
Windows messenger and download the MSN version 6.0? and
use this one instead...gooooood grief!

Any help would be Splendid.

Just drop both, Windows & MSN Messenger.
Microsoft is mistreating it's customers really too much with this joke about
2 mess-anger-s.
I repaced it / them by Yahoo Messenger : I have no problems no more, I have
no questions, no doubts no more. I am a happy user now.

Greetings Ben,

You can find the Add-in he
http://tinyurl.com/hfdh

However, MSN Messenger 6 is not an upgrade to Windows Messenger 4.x, it is a separate
Messenger client (which does run on the same network). In fact if you completely remove
Windows Messenger, then some functions in Windows and MSN Messenger 6 will no longer work,
like Remote Assistance, Whiteboard and Application Sharing.
