Default I need help !

I pasted some symbols in the "personal message"-field of my messenger 7.5,
which caused it to crash. Now, whenever I try to log on, these same symbols
causes it to crash again. Is there any way to reset my messenger to it's
default settings without logging on or formatting my entire harddrive?
