Print drivers won't install

I have talked to HP support as a friend of mine has an HP
PC and just bought an HP Printer/fax/copier (psc 2210) and
it would not print. She knows very little about a
computer and so I offered to call support for her. After
roughly 6 hours of time on the phone with HP, I was told
to contact microsoft support as it is not an issue with
either the PC or the Printer, but rather with Windows XP.
Please let me know if anyone finds out how to fix this
problem, I will post if I find out first. Thanks!
