Do any of the picture hosting sites do a better job than others of allowing one to write captions for the pictures? Do any allow that at all? If they are the same regarding captions, any recommendations for other reasons? Even if captions were allowed, i could write a chapter about every photo, and that would take too long, so I thought of having a group phone call on Skype for 5, 7, 10 people, and we could each look at the same picture while I told the others about it and related stuff. And if they got bored, just maybe I could tell and I would move things along faster. (or they could read the paper, and I would't be the wiser) Or I could answer questions. Is this all technically feasible? Any reason it would not work? Add Facebook to the list. How can I say this politely? Facebook, Aaaaagh!!! Agreed! I check there once or twice a year and recently found that people are using it for Micky's purpose. I appreciate the suggestion, even if the duck doesn't like FB. I don't really like it myself, I guess ever since my high school class reunion put their info on FB, I guess because it's free (although I would think the high school itself would have posted the information on its webpage if they had been asked to) , and I had to scroll 46 pages to find out when and where the reunion was. It's true that some webpages are overly heirarchical, making one go down 5 levels for what could all be on the same level, but I've never had to go down 46 levels. But I wanted to tell you all that I noticed my landlady is using Instagram to post her pictures and they allow individual captions. She seems to write 10 lines for each of her pictures, just what I'm afraid I'll try to do, and then never get past the 3rd picture, but it's much better than not being allowed anything. Any handicap to using Instagram. You seem to have to log in, so either they get their own login (which is a great inconvenience IMO to have to get another login just because I want them to), or they use mine, and if they use mine, I suppose they can mess up what I've posted. But maybe I'm wrong and they don't have to login?? |

This is some sort of store in Greece, advertising for itself. So that's the account name, I would presume. https://www.instagram.com/public_stores/?hl=en The articles on social media settings, read like spaghetti stew to me, so you're going to have to puzzle that out on your own. There was a lot of "swipe" and "tap" in the instructions. I felt like a teenager again, and started looking for some bubblegum to chew. It would be faster for me to code up my own web site in HTML, and I don't even know HTML :-) Paul |

My landlady was trying to show me pictures on her phone -- I kept saying "I'm sure they look better on a computer.:" so she gave me her account name but then I forgot it. Maybe I remember it now. Didn't get that far... I just enter instagram.com and like last time I get this message "Verify Your Account Enter your phone number. We'll text you a security code to make sure it's you. Phone number ____________ Your phone number will be added to your profile but won't be visible to anyone other than you. For additional information, please see our Privacy Policy Instagram doesn't charge for this service. Standard messaging rates apply.""" I'm not giving them my phone number, whether they show it to other people or not. But she seems to think I can see her pictures, so I'll ask her how. If I find something important, I'll get back to you, |
