Default pcAnywhere 10.5 compatibility w/XP

-----Original Message-----
pcAnywhere worked fine prior to upgrading from Win98SE to
XP. I was always able to TCP/IP into my office pc until
after the upgrade. I've even tried uninstalling
pcAnywhere and then re-installing again when I found the
it didn't work with XP. I thought maybe something
happened during the upgrade. But even the re-install
didn't fix anything. Is this a common problem? I even
installed XP's SP1, but this didn't fix it either. Pls
don't tell me I have to uninstall XP and go back to
Win98SE to get pcAnywhere working again.
.

Hi Jeff,

I recently installed 10.5 on a new XP Pro machine at home,
and I am able to TCP/IP into my W'98 machine at work. It
was painless and worked the first time.

Mine was a fresh install, since it was a new machine, so
maybe there is a clue, there.

I believe that 10.5 is the XP certified version of
pcAnywhere...

Good luck
