Hi Rich!
I was reminded last night that we were going to talk about maybe
getting together for lunch or something after the new year. The
reminder was that Bill arranged for his golf group to get together for
dinner at Swee****ers ((in Hauppague) and Laura and I were invited,
although certainly not for the golf/sports discussions. It was Gerry
Pepe, Bob Burns, Dan McConnell, Lonnie Anderson, George Wolfert and Herb
(last name unknown); them that had spouses brought'em. Much was drunk.
Well, Laura and I were due to go out for dinner anyway. Gerry says they
are going to reinstate department chairpeople and he will be it for his
remaining four years. He also says that John stops over once a week to
chat about nothing--Gerry feels that this is because he has no one to
talk to. The name Micciche was spoken by this group with universal disdain.
Anyway, I don't know if you would like to ride out here for lunch
like you did last year or make some other arrangement. Let me know and
I'll speak to Bill.
Ethan and Caroline bought a row house in the Capitol Hill section
of D.C. closed on it this past Monday and will move in April 9th. We
haven't seen it yet but are going down there on March 26 for a few days
so will will see it then, as well as Amy who is taking a few vacation
days to visit at the same time. I was instructed to bring some tools.
This is also an opportunity to present them with an old oak dresser that
Laura inherited when her mom moved from Southampton to Manhattan and
that has been in our garage ever since. Attached is a picture of the
house--the only one we were able to get them to send us. We have booked
a two week tour of Scotland, Wales and England for August 26. Say hello
to Janis. Oh, and did she have any part in approving the hiring of
that Sylver guy at the Hofstra Law School?

Ken
