True Vector Service event 5003
I do not have ZoneAlarm installed, and I'm puzzled why Application Event
Viewer shows a True Vector Service event 5003 occurring approx every second. msconfig does not show True Vector as a service available, nor do I see it as a Startup item, and I don't find ZoneAlarm or True Vector in the Registry using regedit. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. |

True Vector Service event 5003
From a previous post:
I checked with the folks at work that handle the Cisco VPN client and confirmed that the Cisco VPN client and Zone Alarm share a common set of files. We think that I either had a faulty install or an upgrade only partially occured on my system. According to my coworkers, the VPN client is only supposed to use the files not start the TrueVector Service. The plan of attack was to uninstall the existing VPN client and put a newer version down on the box. Removing the old client removed, among other things, 3 files (i.e VSINIT.DLL, VSDATA.DLL and VSDATANT.SYS) file from the System32 folder and after a reboot my system no longer showed any TrueVector Service errors at boot time. I then cleaned up my registry a bit, cleaned up a few other areas and reinstalled a newer Cisco VPN client. The new 4.6 VPN client is working fine and no error messages. -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) SUPERAntiSpyware http://www.superantispyware.com?rid=3154 "Bundy1" wrote in message ... True Vector Service event 5003
The Cisco VPN client shares a common set of files with Zone Alarm and can
produce this error. See this link for information on how to resolve this problem if it is related to Cisco VPN. http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt...ml#post2401423 -- John Hensley www.resqware.com "Bundy1" wrote: I do not have ZoneAlarm installed, and I'm puzzled why Application Event Viewer shows a True Vector Service event 5003 occurring approx every second. msconfig does not show True Vector as a service available, nor do I see it as a Startup item, and I don't find ZoneAlarm or True Vector in the Registry using regedit. Yep.
Making an adjustment to the settings on my Cisco VPN client made all those thousands of 5003s go away and stay away. No uninstall/reinstall required. :-) "John Hensley" wrote: The Cisco VPN client shares a common set of files with Zone Alarm and can produce this error.
