Default TV for laptops

Hey, got a problem.

Problem: I had purchased Hauppauge win tv for laptops
before and it worked great on my windows 98 operating
system. However, after I loaded windows XP, with all of
the updates, the external wintv for laptops would no
longer successfully install. I had asked many support
staff how to fix the problem and at the time they had
suggested resetting my operating system to a time before
my updates were installed and then load the wintv
program. I did not want to do that because I had loaded a
lot of new programs on to my system after the updates,
and I did not want to redo all that work.

Question: Has anybody figured out a way to successfully
load wintv onto windows xp operating system that has all
the updates already installed? I would love to have it on
my laptop.
