Silently installed by iTunes. Not explicit. And apparently not
required.

itunes originally was built on qtml and therefore *had* to install
quicktime on windows.

And yet it continued to work with QuickTime removed, i.e., apparently
not required.

no it didn't.

Every time you post such a response to something someone else
SAW or DID, you just look like an idiot.

the only idiot is you by failing to read what was written.

*any* app that's written on top of qtml (otherwise known as quicktime
media layer) *must* have quicktime installed or it *will* *not* *work*.

Anyone claiming they ran a qtml version of iTunes without QuickTime
installed is simply wrong. That's what the *QT* is: QuickTime Media
Layer.

QuickTime stopped being bundled with iTunes with version 10.5 of
iTunes. iTunes stopped requiring QuickTime at some point prior to 10.5,
but I couldn't guess when that was, since I nearly never use iTunes on
Windows.

Yea... struggling.

That's why I have to wait another 4 weeks to get my new iPhone SE -
because they just can't make them fast enough for demand.

If that's struggling, we should all be so lucky.

It is time to start using Microsoft products.

Free products are coming to an end and people will have to pay for most
products they use.

So, you're saying we should party like it's 1995?

I said nothing about qtml. I said iTunes installed QuickTime but that
iTunes continued to work after I removed QuickTime.

If some other version needed QT, whatever. What I said happened.
I was there.

Making less money one quarter than another is not struggling.

Nor is it a reason to abandon a good product for a crappy one.

Yeah, that's "struggling", alright... LOL! I'm envious of this "struggle"!

It is time to start using Microsoft products.

For complete morons, perhaps.

Back when Apple was eight or nine quarters away from
bankruptcy, there would be cause for concern about
a bad quarter.

Their pile of money is so big now, they can reinvent themselves
several times, while each employee drives a Rolls Royce.
(As long as the Rolls Royce is purchased somewhere other
than in the USA.) I'm sure construction of their circular
campus building will continue. 2.8 million square feed of
office space.

Yeah, they're on the ropes.

BOOM. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. Apple collects a
*majority* of the profits in several industries and has one of the
strongest customer satisfaction ratings as well. The only "struggle" is
in the pace of their step as they continue to dominate the competition.

And you are wrong. iTunes hasn't installed quicktime in many years. 5
years. Maybe more.

It happened on Windows after 2010 and before 2014.
