!!XP installs my USB camera as disk drive!!
Plugging in my camera (Nikon Coolpix 775) as per
instructions doesn't do as expected - and as my old cpu did (also running XP). For some reason it auto detects the hardwear incorrectly and is then listed under removable drive in the device manager. Try to update driveer to the right camera version but it won't let me as it says the driver isn;t the right one for that device type! Arggggh! Please help, Guiseppe |

Hmm, well this is a mass storage (MS) camera, so it should show up as a
drive in Explorer. (I'm not sure what your old cpu did.) Since MS is part of the XP operating system, there is no driver to install. I believe the camera comes with software, but am not sure if Nikon shipped a TWAIN driver with this device or not. If your manual says the device ships with a TWAIN driver, then I'm sure the firmware on the camera allows you to switch between the two modes: mass storage or TWAIN.) good luck! - me "Guiseppe Maguire" wrote in message ...
