It could be that your display drivers are still for Win
98SE. Try going to the website for the company that
makes
your video card and download XP drivers. Then you can
reinstall your video card using the new drivers.

ok, in XP Pro, whenever I try to open the Display
Properties window, either when right clicking on the
desktop and selecting properties or when opening the
display from the control panel, the window just doesn't
appear! I get an hour glass mouse pointer for a second,
then nothing. it is really annoying using a machine at
800 x 600!!! does anyone have a solution? ps, it was an
upgrade installation from 98SE. thanks, Ian
