That is a browser issue, not a Windows issue. What browser are you
using?

Fire Fox.. (IE doesn't work any more.-loads then disappears.)

If IE doesn't load, you have some serious problems that you can spend
weeks trying to discover what the problem is or you can spend two days
reinstalling Windows.

Or you could find a procedure to reset IE.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...rer-reset.html

The reset procedure might not cover the IP stack all
that well, but then, no symptoms are listed so far
that suggest this is necessary.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...er-issues.html

Firefox may "inherit" security settings from the
registry, as set up for Internet Explorer. but again,
colors in Firefox should not be a side-effect of
security settings. The Preferences in Firefox, may
contain "basic coloring" choices for links. Web page
source code can also control colors and override such
preferences.

And the video card could play a part. You could try
disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox, just for
kicks. Flash has a hardware acceleration setting.
But so does the browser, as the 60Hz compositing
feature uses the GPU.

Like I said, you could spend endless hours trying to fix it or just
reinstall Windows and be sure you've fixed it.

As a SeaMonkey user, I am not sure how to reach Firefox's preferences.
However, try selecting Tools on the Firefox menu bar. There should be a
submenu item for Preferences, Options, or something similar. Once you
select the item in the Tools menu, the rest should be the same as for
SeaMonkey.

You should see a Preferences window with a Category tree structure down
the left side. Select [Appearance Colors]. On the right side of the
Colors pane, there should be three buttons under "Link Colors" labeled
"Unvisited Links", "Active Links", and "Visited Links". ("Active Links"
is for the color of a link where your cursor is hovering.) Selecting
any of those buttons gives you a palette of 70 colors; select whichever
one you want for that type of link.

Is it true that Donald Trump refuses to reveal his
income tax returns because he uses so many questionable
loopholes that he pays no taxes? See
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/15/new-evidence-donald-trump-didn-t-pay-taxes.html.
Even if those
loopholes are legal, Trump might be too embarrassed to
admit he pays no taxes.

I have tried all the "usual" IE fixes.. it's a known problem for some
folks.. It was a new install of Win7 in May.. It may be part of
restoring my settings for the prior install (SSD fail) but I like my
settings, hate to have to start over - what are saving settings for if
you can't restore them?
I use Firefox anyway, and more and more sites don't like IE sooooo...

OK.. I've tried to experiment with that idea, by using rediculas
colours (to see the results plainly) but with no luck other than
making everything look scarey.. I also tried "use system colours"
checked and unchecked.. No love there either..

For IE, try going to add/remove programs/windows features and un-ticking IE.
OK your way out then go back and re-tick it.

I know this thread is Way Old..
But I had cause to reinstall windows again, and IE still fails.. It
worked fine for the minute that I hadn't put in the Updates, but once
the updates were in.. poof gone. Updating to Ver9,10 or 11 doesn't
help (It came with 8)
I also tried the remove/reinstall to no avail.
So it's a mystery to me... Googly searches all suggest the same old
same old.. Scannow/remove/reinstall etc. ...
I was toying with perhaps an exorcism but I use both Chrome and
Firefox now, so I don't entirely miss IE.
It only bothers me because my system is not "perfect"...

So does "still fails" means IE is not using the coloring scheme you want
for unvisited/visited hyperlinks? Settings for them are stored in the
registry, so they are still there when you uninstall and reinstall a
program.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...(v=vs.85).aspx

Maybe you decided to have IE use its own colors. Look under Internet
Options - General tab - Appearance section, Colors button. If it is
configured to use Windows' colors than uninstalling and reinstalling IE
won't help because the colors are defined in the registry as Windows
settings. You didn't say which color theme you are using in Windows.

In Internet Options - General tab - Appearance section, Accessibility
button, did you specify to use your own style sheet?

Sites can use CSS stylesheets to override the coloring defaults. You
did not provide a URL to an example web site where the coloring is not
what you want (or there is no coloring) for hyperlinks.

Coloring indicates history: the change in color shows you visited a
link. Do you have history disabled in IE? Do you use some other
software that purges IE's history?

Not a valid signature delimiter line (which is "-- \n", or dash dash
space newline) hence their spam is in the body of your message making it
spam. They know that, they want to avoid newsreaders that strip out
valid signatures (since they're almost always off-topic and fluff), so
they don't append a valid signature to your message.

Please stop spamming your choice of anti-virus software. Appending text
claiming to be virus free is silly. Any malware author could do that:
gee, it's virus free because they say so rolls eyes. There is an
option in Avast to *not* append their spam to your messages.

Later versions of Internet Explorer use hardware acceleration.

There is a dialog box on this page, that shows it can be
disabled. Use the "Software rendering" option instead.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/...ernet-explorer

Things like this happen, because of the details of the
video card driver.
