ACCIDENTLY DELETED MY BACK UP HARD DISK
If XP came preinstalled on your PC, there should be a Certificate of
Authenticity sticker on the case (tower) probably on the rear, with the Product Key number on it. Cari www.coribright.com "Bob S." wrote in message ... My Computer (XP Home) I did something really stupid and I hope that you can offer some suggestions. Last week, I accidentally (don't ask why) deleted an entire disk, called DISE_BACKUP (D). It contained four files, and one directory, which had only one large file in it. I was able to recover the four tiny files, all of which are named ffastun (with different extensions), but the directory was so large that it was completely deleted, rather than going into the recycle bin. I have been worried that my computer wouldn't re-boot, and my fears were justified when I tried. I was prompted to start with a CD-ROM, which I used and was successful. However, the system will no longer re-boot by itself. I have a recovery disk, which allows me to update my system without destroying my files, but I don't know where to get my "Product Key" which is necessary. Can you offer any suggestions? Thanks |
