Windows can't play wmv files.
Ever since I got rid of McAffee virus scan, my windows can't play wmv files
anymore. My Windows Media Player won't even open(I reinstalled it about 3 times). Whenever I try to play any movie file from media center, I get an error message that says to restart either mediacenter or my computer but neither works. Also, Windows Media Player won't even open. The only thing strange that I've noticed is that whenever I turn on my comp, on the Desktop it says "Error: Active DL resource is missing" or something like that. Finally, the active desktop is always turned off and I can't turn it back on by hitting the "Turn on Active Desktop" button. Nothing will happen so I have to go to Properties and get my Desktop back manually. Any ideas? |

Windows can't play wmv files.
Use Dial-A-Fix to repair your system.
After downloading, run Dial-a-fix.exe. Select everything in section 5 (Registration center) then click the "Go" button. You could also try the option "Repair permissions", found in the window that pops up after clicking the button at bottom that looks like a hammer.
