WORD program closes after printing

After I print a document, after about 5 seocnds, the program closes. The
document has printed, and the document is still in My Docs. If I have
printed a letter, for example, I have to retype the address in the envelope
icon, tho the letter has not disappeared.

This printing issue only occurs in WORD; not when I print from Outlook
Express, Internet Explorer, etc.

Any suggestions? I have aksed Microsoft about this, but I have WORD 2000,
and it is no longer covered by warranty. This is a new probem, unrelated to
a new printer, or any new programs that I am aware of.

I'd try deleting or renaiming normal.dot (it may be in several different
folders)
Then start a new document from scratch, save it, and see if the same thing
happens.
Also, a possibility is that the HD has insufficient free space available.
I'd defrag it, and clean up the temporary internet folders by using IE's
tools to remove unneeded temporary files.Finally, I'd use My computer
manage, etc. to see if there is any error history, and what is running.
If the problem occurred as a result of a winXP "update/patch" MS should be
willing to help.
