Default Stop Window Explorer Search Auto Dial?

Every time I do a search of my computer hard drive to find a file using
Windows Explorer, the dialer window pops up and it tries to dial into the
Internet. In the search box named "look in," I am asking it to only search
my hard drive. I cannot find the switch in preferences to make it stop
trying to dial the Internet. My other XP Pro computer does not do this
during searches. If anyone can tell me how to stop this, I would appreciate
it.

Thanks in advance,
Doug

What firewall do you have installed?

Have you checked processes started in Task Manager? If you use Process
Explorer you can get start times if identifying the new process is
difficult.

For further information about Process Explorer see he

Hope this helps.

Try turning off email checking in AVG and ZA, have some one send you a
message or send one to yourself, see if that makes a difference. I use
Norton, AVG and ZA to check email, all without hesitation (Using Cable modem,
MailWasher Pro {checks mail against known spam sites}. Hope this helps.
