Which HELPABOUT or Properties do I go to check whether I have Windows SP1
installed or SP1a? Properies of My Computer shows Service Pack 1. Is this general information that I have installed a service pack or does it state that it isn't SP1a? Thanks for any info. Gino |

Thanks for reply.
It states Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600 I guess this is SP1, and not SP1a. Am I right? Thanks again. Gino "Kelly" wrote in message ... top posting reluctantly 'cos those replying earlier have
Yes. But I take it you're aware that SP1 and SP1a are the same except that SP1a doesn't have some stuff that M$ were required to remove following a court case? So if you have SP1 you don't need 1a. If you *really* want to know what's in your box download Aida32 from: http://www.webattack.com/get/aida32.shtml - it tells you everything about your hardware and software. -- DB. - 781 - wrote: Thanks for reply. On the same token and that said, the difference can be tested easily by
going to Start/Run/CMD and typing in: wjview Differences Between Windows XP SP1 and Windows XP SP1a http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813926 As for Aida32, they have shut down any further versions. Hold on to the one you have. ) Also, Belarc does a fine job as well: http://www.belarc.com/Download.html -- All the Best, Kelly Microsoft-MVP Windows® XP Troubleshooting Windows XP http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm "DB." wrote in message ... top posting reluctantly 'cos those replying earlier have Yes.
