Error Deleting File or Folder
Upon deleting a folder, Windows XP Pro comes up with an error message: Error
Deleting File or Folder: Cannot delete a certain file or folder. It is being used by another person or program. Close ANY programs that might be using the file and try again. How do we know which program or what user is using this file or folder? Is there a program that allows a user to see what it is that blocks us from deleting a certain file or folder? Using Windows XP Pro SP2. I have restarted the PC already so nothing should be using this folder that I'm trying to delete. Thanks in advance Gino |

Reboot, press F8 before the OS screen loads but after the POST and select safe mode without networking. Galen -- Signature changed for a moment of silence. I know about safe mode deletion, but I want to know which program constantly
locks a folder or file from deleting. I don't want to reboot every time I need to delete a file or folder. Gino "Galen" wrote in message ... Who Lock Me? Is this a joke, because the wording of the name is not making
sense. Did you mean to type Who locked me? I searched for Who Lock Me? on the web and didn't find anything. Perhaps a url will do. Gino "K" wrote in message ... Take a look in your running processes and Google the suspicious names of running applications or applications that are using a large amount of system resources. Nothing native to any of my Windows installations causes this sort of behaviour. Do you have some sort of third party backup utility running perhaps?
